, what kind of things did the Mayo clinic help you with ,

meaning with your CMT. Because I'm in WI also, and if they can help me with my

CMT I'm there. Have car will travel, lol.

, they didn't really do anything to help me with CMT, because as you know,

there is no cure yet. What they did do is extensive testing to come up with a

proper diagnosis. The team of neurologists there is amazing, and they spent a

lot of time with me to help me plan for a healthy future and for maintaining a

productive lifestyle.

Hello, my name is Joyce I have CMT and I am 62 years old, I went thru Mayo in

AZ. I spent three days doing tests I had five years ago, all they could confirm

was CMT 1A, no new treatment, to continue the pain meds I have been taking

exercise and Capcasion cream <excuse the spelling> for the burning sensation in

my hands, it is made from chili peppers. They were very nice but offered nothing

more then Barrows Neurological.

Maybe you will have better luck than I did. It was costly but I would have been

elated if they could have suggested any new treatment or advise for future

reference. How did you feel with the information you received? lol

minutes and left. 2 docs were called to see her at home, due to some burns she

had as a result of stoking the fire (heat) One doc she fired right away, the

other one, she refused to follow the advice. "

The author * states " unfortunately the therapy for this disorder (CMT) and

similiar conditions is essentially no better today than it was in her lifetime. "

Are you talking about the Nasal anti-fungal that are Dr's are all ready using??

Mayo clinic announced a while ago that they were coming out with this for

Chronic sinus infections because they know that 95 % of those are fungal and not

bacteria. Whats funny is they act like there inventing the wheel and this is

all new news.

Ok, The medicine I spoke of at the Mayo Clinic is designed to kill the organism

would introduce CSM

the Mayo Clinic may or does have a new medicine that will pull the tricothecines

out of your system. I will get this confirmed and respond again to be sure but

this is pleasant news although I think that is what CSM is supose to do? I am

still a little confused on the issue but am in the middle of this exact

situation minus the steroid part.

SHARON, congradulations. That is great news. I wish you the best.

Honestly I am not certain of the exact medication yet. I will find out though. I

did not know that about sinus infections though.

On second thought, do you feel it is out of line looking into mold sicknesses?

" It is highly unlikely that you could inhale enough mold in your home

or office to receive a toxic dose " .

They are really generalizing when they say that. For the most part

it's probably true...but for those of us with allergies to mold, it is

not.... llaci

I have been told by many sources that MAYO in MN is better, but I contacted them

and they do not treat environmental problems.

I believe that, but working for s Hopkins, I doubt if they would stick their

neck out and treat a mold exposure patient and acknowledge that is what caused

the problems.

As many of us have learned, you don't have to be allergic to mold to get sick

from the toxins. Some of these mycotoxins are classified as biological weapons

which has nothing to do with allergies.

No, I didn't misunderstand it. I was just confirming that the allergist at MAYO

I saw was not good at all. In fact, he was horrible. You would think that MAYO

would have a decent allergist, but their's is a joke.

The allergist I saw at the mayo clinic marked on my report that

summer was my best time of the year for felling better, when actually

it's my worst.
