The Woodstock YMCA is moving more than 40 children out of its day-

care centre after mould was found in the building.

Other programming will continue as investigators continue to probe

the scope of the mould, YMCA board chairperson Sheila LeClair said

yesterday.

" Air quality was tested. There was no immediate health risk

identified, " LeClair said.

But as a precaution, the child-care centre that serves 42 families

will be temporarily located at Bethany Lutheran Church effective

Tuesday, she said.

The public health unit and Ministry of Community and Social Services

notified the YMCA Jan. 13 their inspectors suspected the existence

of mould in the branch at 175 Springbank Ave. built in 1961, LeClair

said.

Environmental consultants were hired to do further tests.

They found different moulds throughout the building, she said.

More tests will be done to determine the source of the mould and

what to do next, LeClair said.
