Guest guest
This came up in a few groups. Perhaps this is of a little use: *We know pateints using Monolaurin from Cardiovascular Research for many years. It is a medium chain triglyceride derived from coconut. It has anti-viral, anti-fungal, and mild antibacterial actions. Some individuals use it for any infection, and highly advise it (along with caprylic acid) for candida. [Of course probiotic and intestinal health is a 500 page book and not just an issue of taking any probiotic with some caprylic acid--I have seen folks with stool cultures where this has failed] *As for UMF honey, some report an anti microbial effect, but some struggle to find a high quality supplier that has an extract that is NOT in honey. Since some are not excited about simple carbs. In the 70's, at the Phila Naval Hospital, individuals treating would use honey on the burn patients, and on decubiti sores. The Navy has its own healthcare system, and there were no restrictions on how licensed individuals practiced in this area. Some report honey was effective as a commercially available dextrose product that was designed for treating open wounds, and the cost savings was considerable.
