The aftermath of Katrina continues

Folks,

I just want to post this email that came from a relative that had left

New Orleans area weeks before the hurricane. They didn't move because

of the hurricane, it just worked out that way. This is their first

time back to the area they once lived. They speak of pictures that

they took, so I can't post those here, but you will get the gist of

it. This is also coming from a person with no previous mold exposure

and is not sensitized in anyway. Can you only imagine the affects that

this is having on those that area? They could stay in the area for a

half hour, because of the sickening smell and the physical effects.

Now what is happening to those that can't leave......

The direction of the discussion that this board has taken today on the

neurological effects that these toxins can have on an individual,

these people are most likely walking around like zombies, not

realizing that they are even affected.

Thank you federal agencies for stepping up to the plate.......

KC

(here is the email)

You see it all on TV, but you can't even begin to describe what it

looks & feels like till you see the before & after. This is the

Lakeview area - only 15 minutes from where we lived. They were homes

from $200,000 to about $900,000 mostly white business owners. This is

the " cleaned up " view of the area. We were told that only 2 weeks

prior they had garbage piles over 3 stories high! We could only stay

about half an hour because the smell gives you a bad headache and a

sore throat that stay dry all day. There are not many people there

because of that. It's not safe OR healthy. The mold is airborne now,

so the area isn't liveable (even though people want to come back to

rebuild). We saw workers wearing masks and?or white jumpsuits. But

they were scarce. We didn't even go down to the 9th Ward area where

the homes were completely destroyed or moved from their foundations.
