Guest guest
Hey All, Emails have gone out in various places regarding this upcoming Senate Staff Briefing. The reason it has been necessary to get the word out is because we need your help in contacting your Senators' offices to tell them you definately want your Senator to hear what is really going on. I'm in a bit of a Catch 22. I need you all to get Senator's staffer there, but at the same time I need you to NOT overwhelm the situation. I have been asked if this is a public forum? Is it being video taped? Can alot of people come? Why so hush-hush? So here are the very blunt and direct answers to those questions: I don't really know if by law it is a public forum. I don't really care. I don't want you there. In the past, we have been to DC on other occassions. Many have gone and told the tales of how their lives have been devastated over the mold issue. They are usually very emotional presentations. We have called Congressman Conyers office to the point that we have simply overwhelmed them. They don't know what to do and have become almost numb to our plight. This is understandable. To date, this approach has gotten us nowhere. I have purposely not put out info that Kennedy's office is looking into this. I was afraid we would scare them off if they started receiving a million calls. So, please don't do this to this office! We have a real opportunity here. For the first time, OUR doctors are going to be heard by the government for a change. In a very low key, professional manner. Dr. Shoemaker, Dr. Marinkovich, Dr. Sherris, Dr. Yang and Dr. Hudnell have all agreed to come of their own accord and of their own money. Others said they would, too. So many of OUR doctors are willing to speak out - that we don't even have enough hours to present what they are willing to share. These gentlemen are flying, some clear across the country, to speak on your behalf. Each of their presentations are only about 10 minutes. But they think YOU are important enough for them to do this. I know how much everyone is frustrated by not having their voices heard. I know how much everyone would like to know the specifics of this briefing. But if you come, then the low key aspect will be lost. I am not even certain how the law on this works. I don't know if you could come. But even if you could, please don't. What I do know though, is that Senate staffers will not feel as comfortable to be able to ask frank questions in a room filled with mold victims. If it is video taped, they will not want to speak out. Please give me the courtesy of doing this in a low key manner. This briefing is not about us going to DC to once again, simply share what is happening to us. They know what we have to say. Now it's time for us to learn what they have to say. This is about getting the Senate to actually take some action to help us. They won't ask questions about what needs to be done in a room filled with angry, hurt victims - while it is all on video tape. Please help me, help you. Contact your Senators AFTER MONDAY and tell them to send a rep to this briefing. But please, stay away from the briefing itself. Thanks, I love you all!!!!!
