Guest guest
That's true. and maybe I'll be one them some day! never know. Mandi, how long does it take to get lead out? I know you have a lead problem. Also, how is the formerly broken boy? Is he knitted back together? My daughter had so many problems because she fell off a bouncy castle and broke her elbow. Bad place for a fracture. Marti PS She's 100% now, although may not ever win Wimbledon.

Guest guest
> Yes, I understand that it does, but I don't know offhand why. > marti Isn't the ammonia a waste that the yeast gives off? I'm not sure, but seem to remember something along those lines in the gut healing book, or possibly the catalogue of supplements, both from Kirkman labs. I'm away from home right now, so I can't check my copies of the books. My son is taking alpha ketoglutaric acid to counteract the ammonia given off by the yeast. His OAT test showed that he needed the alpha Ketoglutaric acid. He had very high clostridia, as well as some yeast. I think that the above information about the ammonia is correct, but will try to double check on it after I get back home, just in case.... Guest guest
I think baking soda is overrated, but others love it. why not use lactulose and/or oral butyrate. They are brilliant at reducing ammonia levels. The lactulose does it very fast. The butyrate has another positive impact on the liver. It is hard to get down, of course, and it smells. Over at autism-challenge they've been talking about ammonia a lot. You might want to check it out. marti
Guest guest
Marti, And also we should mention that lactulose can have some side effects, it can cause bloating, gas, and stomach upset. It is good about reducing the ammonia, I am just concerned about the child having problems with it, now butyrate, I haven't heard of any side effects from butyrate. I give the lactulose to my son, but I give it with milk, milk that is fresh and that has never been heated. Milk that has never been pasteurized. Guest guest
Liver problems are the typical cause of elevated ammonia, which does lead to encephalopathy. As mentioned earlier, alpha keto glutarate helps. Also restricting protein intake helps. Also any and all liver support nutrients help. Also in case there is an intestinal cause, a large amount of probioitics help. There are also some things with electrolyte and with agents to acidify the bowel so as to retain the ammonia that are discussed in standard books on gastroenterology and liver disease. Guest guest
There are a few reasons why the levels could be high-- gut dysbiosis is one of them... alpha -ketoglutaric acid is supposed to bring the levels down. I was hoping some of the more knowledgeable people would comment on the ammonia cleanup plus taking a bath in it? I have taken a bath using hydrogen-peroxide so things which are new to me could great? I have heard that ammonia can clean the mold and I am wondering about netralizing whichever toxin is on the mold? Guest guest
Please people.. DON'T DO THIS.. It sounds very bad for you... I am not a doctor, but I do know that ammonia can be toxic.. For example, this could blind you.. People absorb quite a bit of whatever they come into contact with through their skin.. Especially through mucous membranes.. osmality.. DON'T IMMERSE YOURSELF IN ANY THINGS YOU WOULDN'T LET GET INTO YOUR EYES..

Guest guest
How did you know you had high ammonia, was it from a test? I just wonder if that is causing my boys sour stomach. Guest guest
My doc ordered a routine CBC and added " ammonia " to the script. Guest guest
It can also be due to protein malabsorbtion. AKG worked wonders here. Guest guest
This is very interesting. How do you test for ammonia? What can you do about it? Is it related to ph balance? Â My son is 18, but has a b.o. that smells like ammonia, especially if he doesn't have a good bm every day. He can take a bath and the smell is back within 2 hours. The doctor says there is nothing we can do except get a stronger deodorant and antiperspirant. He eats chicken nuggets and things made with egg. Refuses any other kind of meat. Â Thanks for any info.
