Guest guest
Hi, So glad to have found this group. I am trying to decide which container size to go with. I am single so will be using the vitamix mostly for just myself. I can't decide if I should get a 64 oz container and then buy the smaller 32 oz container. That way I can mostly use the 32oz but have the option of the 64 if I want to make a larger batch of something. OR would it be fine just to get the machine with the 48 oz container. I guess the question is, do you see any benefit to having the smaller and larger sizes. Or would the mid size be sufficient. Is there anything that you make that definitely needs the larger 64 oz size. Thanks so much for any suggestions
Guest guest
I'm single and bought the 64 and both of the 32 ox containers. I figure 20 years from now when I upgrade it'll be easier to sell with the 64 oz container. Tony On 12/26/2011 7:25 AM, eliana8 wrote: Hi, So glad to have found this group. Guest guest
Welcome to the group-so glad you joined us! I have all three size containers, and can say that I haven't used my 64 oz since getting the 32 oz, which I use for everything. I find that it is perfect for most things, and since the VM is so quick to use, if I were to need a bigger amount of something, I can just make two batches, but haven't needed to do that. (I am usually processing for just myself or myself and daughter) The 48 is a great size, but I still prefer the 32-it is MUCH easier to get things out of it with a spatula, and it just takes up so much less space. I put my 64 oz away last year, and haven't used it since! If you are on the fence about size, I recommend the 48 oz since it is the best of both worlds, but I DO highly recommend getting a 32 oz DRY container-I use my dry as much as I do the wet. Be sure to order through our Lea Ann for either your Vitamix or extra containers, as she can get you special deals on either or both!! Guest guest
I debated the same thing before getting one for christmas. I decided to go with the 64 oz and glad I did. I made smoothie recipe and it about took up the whole container so glad I had chosen the 64 oz. I did have 2 glasses of smoothie. Mi was also told that the 32 oz and 48 oz ar the same height. I was worried about putting the whole thing under the cabinet on the counter bu I just stow the container in a cabinet and leave the machine on the counter. Guest guest
Mostly for grinding flour (I am gluten free, so mostly rice, quinoa, buckwheat, nut, oat flour, etc) I also use it for bread crumbs and dry chopping many things. An indispensable tool, for sure!Sent from my iPadOn Dec 26, 2011, at 12:50 PM, alexpetersen@... wrote: what do you use your dry container for besides grinding flours? Guest guest
Thank you for this question Eliana……it is a common one, and I've needed to answer it in a post and link to it, and you gave me the perfect opportunity to do that!IMO if you can afford it, the 64 oz. / 32 oz. combination is best. I have all 3 containers, and the one I use 90% of the time is the 32 oz. wet. It is lighter, more nimble, and easier to clean than the 48 oz. When I need to make something that will not fit into the 32 oz. wet container, I need/want the full-size of the 64 oz. container. I almost never use the 48 oz. container. The real consideration is cost. IF you can afford the 64/32 oz. combo, you have the best of both worlds. If you don't want to spend an additional $100 (and this is a valid point) the 48 oz. container will do "almost" everything. When you need bigger batches, you will just have to double up and do it twice instead of once. Guest guest
Thanks for all of the replies it helped a lot! It sounds like the 32oz is the most popular size so I will go with the 32/64 oz combo. Price is a consideration, I have waited a long time to be able to afford one. BUT, since I have waited, I want to make sure I get the best choice for me. I would rather save for a few more months and get the more expensive package. It's the same logic I used when thinking about a vitamix. I would rather wait and save until I can afford the one I really want, then go through several cheaper models that just don't cut it. thanks again > > Hi, > > So glad to have found this group.
