Guest guest
Joe, what's the point of 5 different gardening groups? Maybe you should, as benevalent moderator, coalesce all five into ONE BIG master gardener list? This could stir up the pot and would certainly simplify your life. More time gardening, less time on the computer! On the other hand, we could use some of those gardeners here as well. Make them feel welcome to join our group. There's an herbal list, a kitchen list, a wildlife gardening list, a general organic list, and a " grapevine " (chatter) list. I wonder if the list-owner would be amenable to consolidating the 5? > On the other hand, we could use some of those gardeners here as well. > Make them feel welcome to join our group. I've decided to start off with a copy of " Broth is beautiful " from WAPF. We'll see what response it gets. ~Joe
Guest guest
You could start with a discussion of the benefits of grass-fed animals and how healthy (and wonderful) " real " butter is. Guest guest
Hi Joe, When I start talking to people about NT, I start out by telling people that they need to eat real food and they need to eat it as close to nature as possible. Many people have no idea what I am talking about and that is usually where I begin. People will look at me with question, or with a chuckle because they think it funny that I do not consider cool whip real food. That is a start, from there you can go to other areas like fermenting or for those vegetarians, you can start talking about meat. I usually leave raw milk and other raw animal products alone until I see they are open to it. If they feel negatively about raw milk, they may not listen to anything else you have to say either. Have fun! Guest guest
Joe, Why don't you ask some people from this group, and raw dairy to join the list and participate in the discussions to help you out just tell everyone you need their help. Tony http://bractsrust.tripod.com<http://bractsrust.tripod.com/> Opportunity to bring up NT, real milk, etc.: Where to start?? Hi folks, I am a moderator of 5 gardening lists. Last week I approached the list-owner about kick-starting our list b/c things were slow, few people posted anymore and consequently, there was a gradual hemorrhage of members. Anyway I have been assigned to kick-start the list that concerns the culinary aspect of gardening (cooking, recipes, kitchen tips, use of herbs in cooking, etc etc etc.), and it occurred to me that this would be a perfect chance to discuss real milk, NT/WAPF principles, and such. The problem is, I don't know how to begin. The last thing I want is to get preachy, or overwhelm people with stuff their minds are not prepared to accept (i.e., the results of pasteurization). Any suggestions of what I can start off with? Has anyone here any experience in educating people in this subject? Thanks! ~Joe
