Guest guest
Hi! We are kind of new to this group, I have been looking at emails for a bit but never introduced my family. We live in Eastern Colorado while my husband is completing his family medicine residency. We have two great and busy boys I get to stay home with! r is 2 almost 3 in December. He is a handful, but has a great sense of humor and is very loving. Hayden (DS) is 9 months and our sweet little cuddly man. He is so easy going and happy. A joy to everyone he meets! We are just looking to connect and learn a little more about life changes to come as Hayden grows. He has traditional trisomy 21, no heart defects but did come home on oxygen due to pulmonary hypertension. He was completely rid of it at 5 months! He has hypothyroid and optic nerve hypoplasia. He can see but has " low vision " (glasses wont fix it b/c it is a problem w/ nerves not the eye) He amazes me at how motivated he is to move and get around even if he can't see that well. His vision wont improve, but he will learn to use what he has. He has already improved so much in using his vision. He teaches us so much and we love to have him in our family. I would never want to go back to they way things were before, he has changed us all for the better and we are so blessed. Thanks for all your insights and info. Hopefully we can contribute more as well. I welcome any questions I will try to post a pic.
Guest guest
Hi, and welcome to the group! You didn't put your name, but I am guessing it is ? I am Patty, and I live in Ohio. My youngest is 7 with ds, her name is Olivia - I found this place when she was a baby, in and out of the hospital, but those days are far behind us now. I still have this group though, and you will find lots of sound advice, and meet great friends too. Maybe a few oddballs too, ;-) Try to post a pic. I love to see baby pictures!
