Guest guest Posted January 19, 2006 Report Posted January 19, 2006 Hi Everyone! Yeah I'm still here and kickin'! And Yeah I know... It's been way too long since jumped on the list, but I read just about every digest that comes through. I'm bad...sorry. Now on to custom soap stamps. I'm not sure what your looking for the stamp to say or have as an image, but I made my own stamp in a round about way. I use the letters TMS on my labels which stands for Thistle Meadow Soaps.... Kinda like a logo of sorts. Anyway....one day when I was in A.C. looking at the stepping stone making supplies, I noticed they had a full set of individual plastic letter stamps They were double sided... A letter on each side. I knew that I could use them for soaping and grabbed a set for... I think they were something like 5 bucks, but when I tried to use them the letters impressed in the soap weren't very pretty so I got to thinking about how I could make this work. Well what I came up with was taking my hubby's Dremel (sp) tool and a little round blade attachment and I carefully cut the letters off the back surface of the letters I wanted to use.... I then glued the letters to the side of my Milkyway Celtic soap stamp handle with 5 minute 2 part epoxy (this stuff rocks!!) I still used the Celtic stamp.... I stamps one side of the bar of soap with the Celtic stamp and then stamped the other side with my logo TMS stamp. I'd upload a pic of the letters on the stamp, but when I broke down my soaping supplies to go back to just making soap for the family this was one of the items I packed up and put out in the shed as I figured the family better know where the soap came from *grin* I have to say that if anyone tries this I advise holding onto the letter stamp with some pliers or something other than your fingers.... That spinning blade thingy is just to close for comfort. Hold onto the bottom letter you want to leave on the stamp that way the blade can't get close to the pliers and make pretty sparks. Not that I'd know anything about pretty sparks or anything *grin* LOL Terri Quote
