Guest guest Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 Greetings Dr. Grim: I hope you are in good health. As mentioned in my previous email, I notice that my bp goes up every time I exercise and remains hight(very high) for 2 days then it drops. For example my bp in the morning could be 120/80 or lower. Then I go to the gym. Swim, work with very light weights, and some times just 10-15 minutes on a bike or treadmill(very light exercise for less than an hour, not to exceed an hour). Come home and then as the day goes on, my bp keeps climbing to 180/110. My HR in the 80's(My normal HR is in late 60's), then I get this pounding in my head and feel weird. The following morning my bp is still high in the 140's/90's and eventually it drops by the 3rd. day. Then the pattern continues when I go to the gym again.(basically every 2-3 days). I was taking 50 mg (25 once) a day. when I noticed the high night time bp's I added 25 more in the afternoon. That was not helping eventually I went up 50 twice a day(today is actually the 4th day on 100mg). Thats all I take. No supplements or anything else. But I dash. Today I discussed this with my neph.He suggested that when I exercise, adrenalene blocks the angiotensin and this causes the aldosteorone to go high. He suggested that I continue with exercise but take DIOVAN HCT, 80mg/12.5mg(he gave me some samples) toward the afternoon and reduce spiro to 50 or 75/day. Considering my history of bad reactions to so many drugs, I have been hospitalized previously for taking beta blockers before and I am really scared to start taking Diovan now. I am not sure if I should take this meds. What do you suggest? Any othe med that you may suggest? On a second note, you mentioned a while ago that you may be opening an office in Northern Califonia. Are you still in this process?. I like to have a consultation with you if you are in Califonia. Thank you. Farah Quote
