In a message Liz writes: I'm one of the ones who have ACTUALLY read it.

However, sometimes, people still need more clarification.

Nothing wrong with looking for clarification - it's welcomed. That's one of the reasons for the group, to help and support each other. But when there are up to 100 e mails a day, keeping up to date with them can be a challenge in itself. As a group we often go down many roads but straying too far away from the group's intent really does makes it very time-consuming and cumbersome. Many of the recent posts have been asking for clarification on topics that aren't BFL related. Of course this is the right forum for questions raised by the book - it would just be really helpful not to see quite so many questions that are already answered by the book. Leaner.

PS My personal gripe - the number of posts asking for the nutrional value of foods. Please. go to a website and look, look at a label.....anything...OK I'm outta her. Leaner.

I'm one of the ones who have ACTUALLY read it. I also read

http://www.hussman.com/eas/

which elaborates on the information that is not touched on too much in

the book. However, sometimes, people still need more clarification.

Reading the book is a good thing and rereading it is a better thing. It means so much more and you have a different perspective after successfully finishing a round or two. There is additional information in the videos, the audiotapes, muscle Media Magazine, the BFL site and the Hussman site, so sometimes its hard to remember after awhile where it all comes from, but it is critical to read the book thoroughly. Feel free to ask questions folks because sometimes hearing several people explain from their view adds to the understanding of what you read. But that's the key. It should add to it. Do your homework and take ownership of your life.

I agree. When ever I am in the breakroom and they are eating whatever new

stuff that was delivered complimentary and I say No thank-you, they all look

at me as I pull out my shake as if I think I'm better than them. It's wierd,

but I enjoy it. I am proud that I can say no.

LOL! I know what you mean. People don't like to eat with other people

who are making " better " or " different " food choices. I never realized

how much peer pressure was involved in eating before BFL. For some

reason people get uncomfortable if YOUR food choices don't reflect

THEIR food choices. These days I just say that I feel better if I eat

this way, or am alergic or have insulin response issues because many

people seem to be threatened when you tell them about BFL. That has

been a major surprise to me.

I am laughing reading your post because I have gone through the same

thing. I have been following BFL for over 8 months now (since June

2002) and have completely changed my lifestyle. Now that I really

look fit, I hear the comments every day, and while some people are

so nice and supportive and say things like " you look wonderful--what

are you doing? " and actually want to hear what I have to say, most

people want a magic pill and don't want to know how hard I have

worked (and they come up with 10 excuses why they can't do what I

have). My husband and family are totally sick of hearing it from me

(my mom even jokingly calls me the " food police " ) and when someone

asks me about my lifestyle change in front of them, I see the eyes

rolling and they get that look of " not again! don't get her

started " . But my trainer tells me that most people don't have the

inner strength to work this hard and achieve what we are doing, and

the reactions often have to do with their own feelings of inadequacy

and even jealousy. I can't wait til spring when I can walk around

without my big down jacket and show off my new arms and legs!

I have received three digests today from our group that just say the following:

" [Only the first part of this message is displayed. The entire message has been

turned into a text attachment, which you can retrieve by selecting Download.

Once downloaded, open it with a word processor or text editor for reading.] " I

don't want to miss anything but don't want to take a chance on downloading an

unknown attachment. Are you all receiving this too? Opinions? Thanks a bunch.

Wanda, I would avoid that. Try just visiting the group on the web, catch up from there. I personally haven't heard of digests coming as attachments. I will check our settings and see if I can determine anything, but best to avoid it.From: wonderzzz@... <Wonderzzz@...>Subject: Is it just me? Date: Thursday, June 2, 2011, 6:23 PM

Thanks, . I'll read the last several pages of messages to catch up. Maybe

it won't happen again. Have a fun day everyone!

Hi Wanda,I don't get that. When I scroll to the end of my screen, a gray button reads "Message truncated." The rest of the message will appear if I click it, however, it returns me to the beginning of the message. So I have to remember to scroll allllll the way down to check for the button or else, I'll have to scroll alllll the way to the middle of the complete message to find my place. ;) Colleen

I use Gmail. Depending on how many messages are in that particular digest I get

a little note on the top edge of my digest that says:

[Message clipped] View entire message

If there are not many messages in that digest, I don't get the message.

If there are a lot of messages then I have to click on the " View entire message "

portion and it opens a new page with the full digest on it. If I don't do that I

only see the first few messages and then it will be cut off and unable to read

the rest of the messages.

Perhaps your email program does something similar, maybe even has made some

changes recently and those happened to be the first digests that came in that

were too long for the basic page.

I'll bet you are right,Vickey -- the digest was just too long for my email page.

Thanks.
