This morning, I was getting breakfast ready while Adena was playing in

the kitchen. She likes to " help " with the clothes, which means she

pulls them out of the laundry basket and scatters them. She was

pretending to sort the laundry. She handed me my pink bikini top and I

asked her to hand me the other pink one that matches. She reached

into the laundry pile and got me the matching piece! I know she

understands almost everything but that almost brought me to tears

knowing she can match colors. I know everybody else would think it is

silly but I knew you guys would understand!

I know what you mean. When we first brought home frm the

hospital he was almost TOO good. He was very bright and alert but didn't cry

and even started sleeping all night after about 2 weeks. When we went back to

the doctor we found he had lost over a pound. I had been breast feeding him

and my milk wasn't nourishing enough. he was getting enough volume but not

enough nourishment. So the doctor put him on a bottle and he really took off.

After a few days he cried, really CRIED, in his bassinet and we all stood around

and laughed, we were so happy. And he woke up to be fed in the night again,

all that stuff. I had been afraid for awhile that he wasn't going to make it,

but he sure did. And we DID celebrate, so I know exactly what you mean.

and this is what the schools need to know also.... there are so many options out

there for our children and many of them thrive in reg ed with the appropriate

supports and modifications... has surprised a lot of people in our

school district included the psychologist who said she needed to many

adaptations to succeed and function in a reg classroom but she does.....

Adena has learned so much more than I could ever imagine! She amazes me every

day but especially when she does something I don't even think she would begin to

know, it amazes me even more!

It is not silly... I love it when my little one shows me what she has learned...

she can learn sometimes faster then I ever thought she would... all our children

can learn and it is so fun seeing them do so

I have to admit, you have to actually see and TASTE to really be convinced. I

live near Orlando and would go over to those home shows or the Woman's show at

the convention center and see them demonstrating. This went on for over two

years. However, I used to tell myself it was crazy to want a blender that was

so exensive, especially with my circumstance of being a single mom but two years

ago I talked myself into it courtesy of QVC's 5 value pays (sorry Lea Ann,

didn't find this group until afterwards) and haven't looked back.

Once you own this machine and the suggestions from the group, things just

snowballed. Trying new vegetables, container gardening, new herbs, sprouting,

the list is endless as to offshoots from owning a Vitamix.

Bottom line, after you initially follow the recipes to get a feel for the

machine, experiment and enjoy.......

>

> I have been wanting a vitamix for a while and hubby has been supportive but

not in as much of a hurry as I am to get it. He knew that after I did my

research and started sharing with him, my mind was made up. He is a great hubby,

and supports me when I start researching a new " gadget " . The past few weeks, he

was getting a bit annoyed with my enthusiasm, but was a trooper. I scheduled a

home demo with LeaAnn, a little to his dismay, but he was a trooper about it!

Thursday we ordered our machine. Friday he told a bunch of our friends about the

great smoothies (even the green one) and how we were able to add veggies without

him even tasting them. Today, when we were at the grocery store, he was checking

out the veggies and told me he couldn't wait til our machine arrives so we can

get rolling!!! My doubting has been transformed into an Anxious Andy!

Just a little while ago, he and my son were saying how much they wanted to have

some yummy ice cream----and if the machine was here, they would make up a batch

themselves :)

> If you or your spouse are on the fence about making a purchase, please talk to

LeaAnn or view the videos. I think that going to a demo or seeing one if you can

find a Whole Foods/Sams etc where one is taking place is a great idea---tasting

the items made with the magic veggies was an eye opener for the doubters in my

family!
