Guest guest
A group buy would be a great idea and I don't mind at all if you would like to use this list to try to organize it. Probably would be a good idea to announce it on the list, but try to do as much of the communication off list as possible. Good luck to you!I'd get the Berkey first (because it would work both places) then save up for the Costco R/O unit. I have both. I don't use the Berkey at home, but am very glad to have it in case of any water shortages in the future. BUT I cannot afford both. The Berkey gives up to 20% off though for group buys so if anyone is ever wanting one and wants to do a group buy, let me know. Not sure exactly how that works but I would be itnerested! Carolyn In a message dated 4/11/2011 10:51:34 A.M. Would not fit in my fridge, too tall! If I wantedcold, I would transfer the filtered water to either pitcher or bottles, and put on a shelf in fridge. Then I would have room to keep more watergoing. However, ours sits on a corner of the kitchen counter whichsometimes gets some morning sun. The water is quite cool year aroundsitting there, but we do use AC in house during summer. I think thestainless steel being shiny helps reflect the sun away. The Big Berkeyis a double cylinder sort of affair. The larger cylinder has the spigotand sits on the counter. The other cylinder has a tapered edge on thelower inch which fits inside the lower one, to hold it in place. Theupper one has a removable lid. When you lift the lid, you see the twoblack filter cartridges. We fill either with the hose spigot fromfaucet, or from a pitcher. Ours holds 2.5 gallons. Plenty of drinkingwater for the 3 of us. We do not use it for ice cubes, as our fridge hasice machine. Only time we run short on water is if no one has filled topin a while and husband decides to make 12 cups of coffee in his machine!I don't drink coffee, but he likes to keep a insulated pitcher of hotcoffee next to the coffee maker, so he can just go fill his cup when hewants. When he fills that big coffee maker, it takes our lower chamberof filtered water down a bit. Just a matter of filling the top andwaiting a while.Velda
Guest guest
I'd be interested in a group buy for the portable one. Will the 20% cover a group buy if there are different models in the group? > > A group buy would be a great idea and I don't mind at all if you would like to use this list to try to organize it. Guest guest
I don't know but I should call the number on their site and find out more. Not sure either if they all have to be shipped to the same address then go out from there. Anyone know from other experiences. I have never done this and do not know yet if they ship to Canada, but I will call and find out. Carolyn In a message dated 4/11/2011 5:58:00 P.M.
