I would like to know if the ingredients in this supplement would do

me any good in loosing weight. Loosing weight has been recommended

by my doctor. I seem to loose a few pounds, and then a few weeks

later, gain them back.

This supplement claims to modulate CORTISOL with the claim that too

much cortisol is released and keeps fat on.

Would any of these ingredients help me loose weight, or affect my

blood pressure?

HERE ARE THE INGREDIENTS. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

First of all it is more than likley a gimmick. Cortisol is a

neccesary hormone and protects the body in times of stress. No not

by causing you to eat. It is part of the fight or flight reaction

provided by the adrenals. I can tell you what it like to not have

any cortisol and it is not pleasant. Cortisol is produced by the

adrenal in response to the hormone ACTH which is produced by the

pituitary gland. A lack of cortisol causes the brain to prduce large

amounts of ACTH which will turn the skin a dirty orance color. The

blood pressure will drop without the presence of cortisol in a

crisis. A crisis is defined as a illness as simple as a sinus

infection, a car accident or broken limb, or even a death in the

family or divorce. Metabolism will cease and any food that you can

get down will sit there until you throw up. No you will not feel

hunger pains, because that part of your body has ceased to work. You

will loose obcene amounts of weight I think that they call it

phisilogical anorexia. I got down to 112 and I am 5'8 " tall and my

ideal weight should be in the range of 140. Your potassium will rise

to dangerous levels and you will have an insatiable need for salt.

You will sleep constantly and standing will make you very dizzy as

when you stand your blood pressure drops dramatically. If you live

to make it to a hospital then the first thing that they will give you

is cortisol. Now about that diet aide. Many people have a condition

called cushings disease which is caused by something very similar to

the hyper aldo that we all experienced. Cortisone is the hormone

affected. Yes they blow up and get quite fat. THe cortisone eats

away at their bones and joints in those amounts and the can die as

well. If that stuff actually worked I doubt that they would require

the billateral adrenalectomies that most undergo. The diet aide in

question may actually cause some to loose weight as I noticed several

ingredients act as diretics. But depending on other meds and

conditions that could cause problems. Please use caution as it like

all of these products use portions of the truth but rarely tell the

whole truth. They only say what will serve them the best.

The DASH is the best studied diet and would only try that first.
