Guest guest
I would guess it is related to the steroids- Are you splitting the dose to mimic the normal pattern? That could help. Guest guest
Helen, Don't you still have one adrenal? The reason I ask is because my daughters remaining adrenal is has a slightly high cortisol reading and I bet that you may be getting that too. It will cause cusings effects in some. She is not gaining any weight from hers as she is still quite small and runs full throttle at all times. Try to have the doctors check your cortiosl and look at the results yourself. I know some docs are not so keen on people looking but over here we are allowed to see all are records and I hope that you will be allowed to follow things up on your end. Guest guest
Left adrenal only. Right was not working properly which is why I had steroids. Last check up was February 2003 and I am still waiting for my recall for the check that should have been done in March. Local hospital couldn't / wouldn't do tests (it is only a tiny unit) and said they would refer me to Edinburgh. I phone every week but it seems my notes have gone missing in transit so I no longer exist. My own Dr has also made enquiries and hit the same wall that no one has the records any more. Guest guest
IF at all possible you should keep a copy of your records for yourself as you have much more interest in them not being lost than any medical system. Guess you can always ask for a copy. I recommend that ll of my pts keep a copy of their health record. May your pressure be low! CE Grim, BS (Chem/Math), MS (Biochem), MD.
