Guest guest Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 If it were me I would think " do I need the aggravation of this woman's constant interference? " Knowing that it would be very hard on Sydnie this would make me feel bad but still at that point I would make the decision to tell C's mother something like this- " I hope you don't take this in any fashion other then intended but I strongly feel that children's friendships need to be spontaneous and unfettered. If you are uncomfortable with C having Syndie as a friend, for any reason, I understand but I would rather not have discussions about who did what. I find that kids fight and make up and that is a big part of their learning how to navigate the world. I don't want to interfere with that. C is such a little sweetie and means so much to Sydnie but it does make me uncomfortable when there is so much concern over what happens between them on a day to day basis. " It will be hard to do but the reward is that you will have drawn a boundary regarding what you have to deal with. I have found that that is the thing that saps me the most. Losing boundaries. Maintaining them is a life affirming move. Somedays I do it and somedays I can't. Ann mother to Amelia (6 ds) and Jake (5) Quote
