My 19 yr old daughter was in New Orleans last month on Spring Break. She worked in St. Bernard Parish...9th Ward. Tyvek suits, masks and gloves kind of deal. She visited the ER twice down there...once for a " spider bite " ...once for stepping on a nail (received tetanus shot). " Spider bite " was just proximal to the discoloration. No swelling, no fever, no ill-feeling, no eruptive evidence as of yet. The discoloration began around one week ago, and as of today a similar pattern is begining on the right hand as well. 1% cortisone cream started yesterday afforded no visual or symptomatic change.
