Guest guest Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Dr. Grice, Never been called a rabble rouser. I am completely serious about what I am writing, not just to cause a reaction but hopefully causing you to question your core beliefs. If you have been in practice for any period of time it may be difficult for you to question your foundation. At this point, even if data were presented I doubt you would change your theory/practice. What you explained happened in your office today is exactly what I am talking about. You reduced irritation and the person was able to function. Unfortunately you did not know what you did. Let me ask you, would you want to go to a brain surgeon that said what you have said about his treatment? Hope you are well, The rabble rouser, D.C. > > Come on everyone quit responding to this rabble rouser. Guest guest Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Dr. Welker, Your comments are becoming more and more amusing. If you think a brain surgeon knows more about what he is doing than we do, you ARE delusional. Yes, it is true we know little of what actually happens as we work ...but anyone from our profession who has had their hands on bodys for any length of time knows full well that what we do, as WE do it, causes not only changes but positive change. But let me tell you, Doctor, my years as an OR nurse allowedme to understand that that brain surgeon actually knows LESS about what he is doing than we do, by FAR! He has NO concept of the primary respiratory mechanism and as far as cranial movement is concerned, he is seriously out to lunch. my 2 cents. Guest guest Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Sunny, Sorry to hear you had a negative experience with a neurosurgeon, just as in any profession there are good and bad. Thankfully, I have worked with many good and few imbetween. One bad apple does not represent the bunch. I am actually very willing to learn, at this point all I have heard is the same bunch of statements over and over. Who am I, why would I ask such a question, why disrupt our happy home. The only problem is that I also live there, the banner that the DC's wave I also have to stand under. I have 2 choices, 1)bow down to a flawed set of theories, stay quiet and be a good DC, 2)Challenge the system and hope for change. I haven't even gotten to evaluation or treatment yet. I guess I will choose 2 because I believe in manipulation as an effective tool of treatment. This is kind of like telling your parents you don't agree with their religion. In changing any paradigm people become frustrated, angry, etc. The funny thing is that we already have 2 camps within our profession, misalignment and fixation. Unfortunately, one does not equal the other. Weird, we don't see these people disagreeing. So many theories, everyone is right, who do we follow. Gonstead? MPI? ? Guess best to just learn them all, and practice a new one each day of the year. Sorry, just venting. Brad Welker, D.C. Quote
Guest guest Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 Dr. s, Thank you for your response. I say there are two choices, this is what I choose. I have never said you could not continue what you were doing as a chiropractor, I have said over and over again that if by chance this information helps you to grow-great, if it strengthens your beliefs-great. I am speaking to those that will listen. If you are one of those-great. I can give you years of clinical data, I practiced before I preached. I have never been trying to start a fight, only a discussion. What you make of this is your choice. Again thank you for your discussion. Brad Welker, D.C.
