Hi all!

I am back from the Handcrafted Soap Guild's Conference in Pittsburgh, PA. I

wanted to fill you all in on how fun and informative it was! The speakers were

wonderful, ranging from marketing and sales to all kinds of soapmaking

techniques. You can see the complete list of classes and speakers at

www.soapguild.org

There were topics to interest M & P, CP and HP Soapmakers alike, from " How to make

large batch CP " to " How to make realistic crystals and gems with MP Soap " ,

Classes on EO blending and an informative class on the chemistry of soapmaking.

The interaction with other soapmakers was wonderful, getting answers to those

questions that nag at you and being able to see the unique ways other people

make, market and sell their soaps.

In attendance from this list was:

, Bob, La Shonda, Diane, Debbie and myself

:)

Leigh, we were there wednesday nite, We saw Bob and Lashonda at the

registration table. And then on thursday morning we ran into Deb in the

breakfast room, and while the first classes were in session, we saw Diane in

the Vendor room, then after a while, during the break we were talking to

Irene and came in and we saw her there. So Wednesday nite and we

were " around " on thursday morning. Thursday afternoon we spent with Irene.

Which of her classes did you go to? What were you wearing? Maybe we saw

each other but didnt know it.

Shaye:

Sorry I was such a putz! When II saw you guys in Irene's class I just kind of

sat

there as it took more than a few cups of coffee to get me going. Let's just say

I

didn't get a lot of sleep.

I wan't the only one. Most of the board members had the same problem for

various reasons. A common one is Fibromyalgia, but stress is right up there

too. I know I was wound way too tight as even after a few drinks I went back to

my room annd still was up to about 2:30 every morning. Man did it make for a

slow start! And to top it off, all I needed was two people in particular that

were

constantly in my face. It didn't make for a good time. I'm not sure if I'll work

the

conference next year because of it.

We should have had a CNY dinner!!!! Howcum we don't think of these things

at the moment of truth???
