Dear ,

Here is some information I came across:

" Prolotherapy is a treatment that stimulates the body to repair painful

areas. Patients are given a series of injections at the affected points

where ligaments attach to bones. These injections are safe and consist

mostly of the simple sugar, dextrose, and an extract of the pitcher plant.

The injections have been found to trigger the same natural healing response

that normally occurs after an injury: the heightened development of cells

called fibroblasts. Fibroblasts produce collagen, a major constituent of

connective tissue.

" These " connector " fibers are an important part of ligament structure.

Healthy

ligaments have healthy connective tissues -- especially, healthy collagen

fibers that limit themselves to a certain amount of stretch. When the fibers

are weakened by health conditions, they lose their ability to prevent

further stretch. As a result, ligaments become " loose. " Joints and other

ligament-based structures become unstable and, ultimately, very painful.

Prolotherapy eliminates or reduces pain by stimulating the body to rebuild

ligaments (and tendons) - in other words, by producing stronger, more

stable joints that are free of pain.

Dr. Hauser explains why other therapies in addition to Prolotherapy are

needed by certain patients: " It is as if some patients have lost the ability

to heal, a condition I call 'connective tissue deficiency.' This inability

to repair connective tissue--the tissues that make up ligaments, tendons,

muscles, vertebral discs, and tissue between organs--is thought to underlie

the development of many health conditions. "

Books: Dr. Hauser, together with n Hauser, have written five books on

Prolotherapy. For information about the Hausers' books on Prolotherapy, call

With proper obedience school training, about 4-6 weeks, depending upon which ligament, the condition of the surrounding and associated musculoskeletal structures, the etiology and age of the injury, work/lifestyle/activities of daily living, history of prior injury, nutritional support/drug interactions, phase of the moon, etc, etc. If left to roam around on it's own without supervision it may never learn to heal.

BTW - groovy wallpaper, man.

Does anyone know how long it takes a ligament to heal?
