Just hope that things will improve quickly, and more survivors are found. I managed to watch a news clip by CBS today. It shows a group of people who are family members of possible victims of the bombing and who are missing too. They cried as they showed the camera photos of their missing loved ones and appealed to the public to help find them. My heart really ached when I saw that, and I nearly cried. Finally!], and I just have to wait for the Ministry to post me to a school for the coming July 2002 semester. I can only start teaching in July as June is the school holidays. However I have heard that during the period while I wait to be posted to a school, we will be sent for lots of induction courses. However, most likely we will not be teaching near our home due to the shortage of teachers in certain areas. Anyway I will be moving soon anyway, although I will still be living in the same area. The school I am teaching in now is my former primary school, and it will be merging with 3 other schools starting next year. I really hope I can get posted back to this new merged school, as it not only consists of my former school, but it is also near my home. Guest guest Posted March 9, 2002 Report Share Posted March 9, 2002 Hi Helen, Went to the emergency department of another hospital on Mon as the pain was horrible. this hospital is not the usual one, in fact, that was the first time I went o the hospital. Pretty efficient, actually. Still waited almost 2 hours before my turn, but there were many patients. However, I got my jab immediately while inside the doc's room. This is unlike at the usual hospital I went, where I was sent out to wait for some time to wait for the jab. Anyway, the doc wrote a referral for me to see a neurologist at the hospital on 18 Jan. Will go and see what they can offer..... How's Ross, FIL, MIL and the girls? Ling Re: Ling I'm so glad that you are just busy... I was furious. Anyway, as I was not feeling good, I went to the Emergency department of the hospital. After a useless Voltaren jab was given, I was given penthadine + maxolon jab. That worked for a short while, then the pain came back again. SO I was admitted. Today, [saturday], I saw a neuro who said that he would ask my pain doc to come and review my case, ie, come and see me in the ward. However, this pain doc told me he could only see me on Monday!!! That means I will have to bear with that pain until Monday?!?! Nobody in the ward except for pain docs will dare to give painkiller injections. As expected, when I cried in pain today, the nurse came with a Anarex tablet [a combination of paracetemol and a muscle relaxant]. I could not stand it, I felt I was rotting there. I hope you mean the 18th of March ) MIL and FIL doing as well as can be expected... Ross hurting bad with the bad weather we have had a round here as he has osteoarthritis real bad ( Girls as of last Friday were all thre ill with colds, ear aches and sinus's, but they aren't to tell anyone that they are sick according to their loving father and the thing he lives with... I was down at FIL and MIL house on Friday cleaning their house and Hubby was helping burn the big pile of limbs that needed done...They still have three more big piles to burn...The last pile took seven hours, they kept adding to it...That was from the last ice storm we had and that mess is still not done down there (or here)... Here in America you will wait in the ER if you are not dying when you get there...So far everytime I have gone I have been transported ny ambulance as it is usually my heart and I get right in... We took the baby one time to the ER as she fell and hurt her head and they told us they had a 6 hour wait !!! I said then never mind, I would take her to another hospital... So we went across town and got her right in, because she was hurt so bad, we didn't have to wait... Let's hope the new neuro that you are going to see will be able to help you... We were down at Ross's folks again today and Ross and his Father finished burning up the limbs that they picked up in the yard... Limbs in English is Branches off of the tree's... They Blew down in the ice storm and wind storm we had here...They had enough down to fill my kitchen up... it took two times to burn them all up... Someone else came and cut up the tree and took the wood for their fireplace, and so the guys burned the branches that were left, plus all the downed one's in the yard... I took my sewing machine with me today and sewed on the christining dress I have been working on... I wasn't up to doing housework for them today... I bet you are exhausted with everything going on around you... When is your next break from school??? Take Care my Friend... Guest guest Posted May 16, 2003 Report Share Posted May 16, 2003 Well, everybodys got to live somewhere ) There's tornado alley in the heart of the country, but they can hit anywhere, theres the hurricanes along the coasts, There's the earthquakes, mainly on the west coast, but can be any where, and then we have the lovely four seasons in my area ) , the beautiful streams and lakes and mountains and rivers and so on ) So it all equals out ) Take care... Hope you are safe where you are? SARS.... well, some patients and staff from the Institute of Mental Health here were down with fever from 11-12 May.... they have been moved to the SARS designated hospital. Other workers in the IMH, although feeling well, have been moved to quarrantine quarters [from recently vacanted apartments] as a safety precaution. These staff will continue to work at IMH while moving to and fro between IMH and the quarrantine quarters. Food and daily neccesities will be provided for them so as to minimise their contact with the community. The IMH has been closed to the public with immediate effect, and contact tracing in progress. Outpatients will be referred to the psychiatrists in private practice and also to the private Mental hospital here. In the schools, we have issued declaration forms to the pupils' parents to find out if they have had any contact with IMH, and to identify any quarrantined pupils in our school. Really hope the SARS has not broken loose again... Headaches, well..... have not been sleeping well for 2 nights already... went to the family doc twice yesterday night for Tramadol injections.
