Guest guest Posted March 15, 2006 Report Share Posted March 15, 2006 Received a letter today sending a patient to an IME. Nauturally, the DOI is 1/13/06 and the noticed sent 3/14/06 (handy huh?). I called to press the adjuster on his rational for IME and the response was priceless.... 1. It was a low speed impact crash. (yeah yeah heard that one before). 2. We aren't sure if the injuries sustained are related to the MVA. (see #1). 3. This is the best one of them all: We need to protect our company's interests. I politely but firmly responded that the patient is his company's insured and customer so he (they), must also inherently have his interest in mind as well. Silence.... This process has turned into an absolute joke. I want to be the first to thank the insurance industry as a whole for slowly bleeding America dry.
