Hi, ! Majestic Mountain Sage [http://www.the-sage.com/] has some good

lotion recipes on its site ... I've tried a few of them with success. It's

really not that hard; me personally, though, I find that sometimes I don't

get all of the stearic acid melted, and then the lotion ends up having these

" chips " in it [which is totally AWFUL]. I've actually just been using a

lotion base from Wholesale Supplies Plus

[http://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com/], and it's so easy! hehe :) But,

there is nothing like lotion from scratch. Mmm, it's incredible! Anyway,

here are some of MMS's recipes that I've saved in my e-mail folder ~ I hope

that they help you out somehow. This first recipe says that it's

copyrighted; I hope that it's OK for me to list it here for our group:

>>Recipe #1:

1.25 grams Citric Acid

5 grams Glycerin

10 grams Stearic Acid

21 grams Emulsifying Wax

7 grams Mango Butter

16 grams Avocado Oil

19 grams Apricot Kernel Oil

10 grams Jojoba Oil

5 grams Shea Butter

16 grams Sunflower Oil

388 grams Distilled Water

3.5 grams Germaben II

0.9 grams Honeydew Fragrance

0.6 grams Jasmine Fragrance

1 gram Vanilla Cream Fragrance

Instructions: Combine Citric Acid, Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Emulsifying Wax,

oils and water. Weigh Germaben II and fragrance but don't combine with other

ingredients just yet! Heat oil and water mixture in microwave until all

water is hot and stirring shows all wax is melted. If more time is needed

heat for a few more seconds. Mix well. Double check for wax particles on

spoon or immersion blender. Allow to cool just a bit and then stir in

fragrance and Germaben II. Stir well to ensure complete dispersement. Pour

into bottles. © 1996-2001 Majestic Mountain Sage, .<<

>>Recipe #2:

1.25 grams Citric Acid

10 grams Glycerin

10 grams Stearic Acid

20 grams Emulsifying Wax

75 grams Sweet Almond Oil (or Avocado Oil, Jojoba Oil or any oil of choice)

2.5 grams Freeze Dried Aloe Powder (100x)

375 grams water

3.75 grams Germaben II

2.5 grams Fragrance oil (we used Spicy Lime Fragrance)

Instructions: Combine all ingredients (except Germaben and fragrance)in a

microwave safe container. Heat until waxes are melted and can easily be

mixed. Using an immersion blender, mix until all ingredients are emulsified.

Add Germaben and fragrance. Pour into containers. Notes & Comments: This

lotion is very light. I will keep its shape somewhat but not for long

periods of time. It is an easy recipe and can be completed in about 30

minutes. Makes 16 fluid ounces. Enjoy!<<

>>Recipe #3:

3 grams Glycerin

3 grams Stearic Acid

3 grams Emulsifying Wax

15 grams Jojoba Oil

75 grams water

0.5 gram Germaben II

0.5 gram Cantaloupe Fragrance Oil

Instructions: Weigh all ingredients except Germaben and Fragrance together.

Heat in mircowave until all solid ingredients are melted (just before water

begins to boil). Blend with immersion blender to ensure complete

emulsification. Add Germaben and fragrance mix well. Pour into bottles.

Allow to cool. Notes & Comments: This recipe uses 100 grams. To fill a 4 fl

oz bottle you will need 125 grams of mixture. Use the spreadsheet

information in " Lotion Spreadsheet How To " , to multiply this recipe. To make

exactly 4 fl oz you will multiply this recipe by 1.25.<<
