She gave me an example from 's testing that I will never forget. She showed me a picture of a box, wrapped in pretty paper with a bow on top. She asked to identify the picture, and said " it's a present " . Of course she was right, but because the official answers written by some not so brilliant person said the answer was " gift " , was marked wrong on that answer. There is no deviation in stand. testing, and it does not give a true picture. In our family, we give presents. My neighbor may give gifts, and we are both correct. > We had a similar example on this current round of evals...... When asked " what month were you born? " , said " I don't know " . Later, when she was asked something about " birthdate " , she again didn't know. When they finally asked her " When is your birthday " , she happily replied with her usual " Janjuary 16 " . Does she know her birthday? Absolutely! Does she know the month she was born? Maybe, if you asked it like " what month do you have your birthday? " ..... certainly if you said " what month were you born? Is it April? " She would laugh and say " no silly, Janjuary " (or more likely, Janjuary 16). Most importantly, she won't let us miss that day! , mom to (9), (7 DS), and (5) Still up and cramming for the big triennial tomorrow! Quote
