Guest guest Posted December 30, 2004 Report Share Posted December 30, 2004 My name is Mattern and my oldest son Ben has Down Syndrome. He is going to be 12 in February. He had surgery at 7 months old for AV Canal defect. He has had his adenoids and tonsills out, several pairs of t-tubes. He has also had surgery to tighten the muscles on the eyes for one of his eyes that turned in which is now corrected. He wears glasses for astigmatism and has alopecia. He lost his his when he was about 3 and hasn't had any since. He gets several sinus infections during the year and has allergies mostly to environmental issues. There are no other health problems. My other son, is going to be 10 next week. I also live with my husband, Ken and we have a dog named Scout. I don't post as often as other people but read all of my mail daily and respond to others when I can. Hope everyone has a great New Year M.
