Guest guest
One of the rounding docs told me the morning after 's T & A surgery, after hearing about 's refusal to eat/drink, told me that her son (non-DS) refused to eat/drink and ended up being hospitilized for 4 days :-) She assured me this wasn't the norm, but that there were occasional kids who were (most commonly) stubborn, or had (more rarely) complications that caused a stay of longer than 1 night. Her son was one of the stubborn ones, but he wasn't discharged, even to an MD mommy, until he ate/drank. Hope Noah is one of the easy ones! , mom to (9), (6 DS), and (5) Biggers wrote: >Hi Kathy: > >Thanks so much. I could tell this ped ENT was on the ball right away. The ped ENT made it seem like it would be several days and not just one. She said she'd start with one as that's what the insurance companies will allow. I do feel like this dr. will take good care of my son though as she seems quite knowledgeable and did a good job of explaining why my son needs all of this done now. She took the time to explain how the fluids flow through the ear canal and why his keep getting blocked, etc. > >I had been asking my son's old ENT about having his tonsils out and he said with him being on other medications, it just was too complicated and risky. I told the new ENT this and she said flat out that he was a chicken and they weren't. Also, anyone that knows Noah knows that he needs something done because this is a child who is almost always on some type of antibiotics because of all the infections he always has... being sick with infections also keeps him off of his arthritis meds and it's a vicious circle. His nose is constantly running all the time all day, even during the summer.... it's awful.... I'm so hoping this helps him out. I believe it will too, but we just have to get him through it. > >Sorry, you probably didn't want a book.
