Did you guys always have that problem or is it kind of recent?

To be honest with you, I don't see it as a " problem " . It can be a very

marketable skill if channeled in the right direction. Do you know how much

business

the professional organizers get working on people's closets etc.? What I try

to do is teach him what to do with things that are on the surfaces that he

wants to clear off. For instance, don't put them in the garbage, but put them in

the drawer...

To answer your question though, he has always been fairly neat, but only

started this organizing stuff when he was around 10 years old. Now, sometimes he

is pretty extreme.

The other night at 1:30am I could tell that he had gotten up to go to the

bathroom so I got up to check on him. He was in the bathroom sure enough, but

he

had made his bed before he left his room! lol

now if I could only get my 16 year old daughter to have even one ounce of her

brother's skills.

Hi all,

It must be the full moon that is bringing all these quirky behaviors out.

Bridget is taking things off counters and putting them in the cabinets, garbage,

or her room behind the dresser. The teacher said she is doing this at school

putting things in drawers.

The things at school have been the teacher's papers on a math lesson, the toilet

paper in the mini-frig. At home, she takes tomatoes or other foods and puts

them in the cabinet or in a pan on the stove. She threw away a book that was on

the counter. Then she took her homework pack and put it behind her dresser.

She is also taking games and hiding them behind things.

Any ideas????

LOL, Nic is doing the opposite. I found a 5lb. bag of flour on the counter

yesterday and various food items from the fridge.

Luckily, nothing was opened.

My son does this too. He is trying to " organize " things and clear off

surfaces. For instance, he doesn't like anyhing on our kitchen table. If you

leave

something there, he will move it. Therefore, we've learned not to leave

anything on our kitchen table. I draw the line at my bedroom. He is not

allowed to

make my bed or organize anything in there. Sometimes I have to lock my door to

keep him out, lol.

My son will be 14 in January and his IEP is today. We will be talking about

future life in the working world. I will be emphasizing this child's future in

organization! I can see him doing restocking of supplies in the doctor's

office, etc.
