Many employers are desperate to keep WC claims down and some companies are getting bad advice or are being swayed by slick marketing and are spending outrageous amounts of money on chairs (500-1000 bucks and up) on the new generation of "ergonomic" chairs. Some of them chairs stink...I sat in a brand called "neutral posture" and it was like sitting in an airline seat..it had a headrest that shoved my head forward... great brand name but there was nothing "neutral" about it. it costs about 700 bucks Neutral Posture I see a great opportunity for you to consult here. You can go to the office at no charge and spend 20 minutes with the employee and employer and talk to them about the basic concept of "ergonomics" wherein the body and the jopints will be less stressed biomechanically if they are in a more neutral zone. This can sometimes be accomplished with a chair costing 100-200- bucks. Bring along a copy of "sitting on the job" by scott donkin, dc and give it to the boss. Or, can you meet the employee/employer at office depot some day after work? Teach them how to fish for themselves...they will never forget the great service you gave them....and then they will refer people your way brother!! The more parts that are adjustable, the better the fit. Height; seat tilt A-P or P-A; Back height & tilt; arm rests height adjustable and side to side.
