Guest guest
This article purports that olive oil is great, and luckily I had access to the full text. Initial post provided by Roderick Beck. http://news./s/nm/20060705/hl_nm/mediterranean_diet _dc;_ylt=Ap7cOI9jqv56uchx_3mFa.YDW7oF;_ylu=X3oDMTBhZDhxNDFzB HNlYwNtZW5ld3M- I had some " healthy " comments about the article which had 3 groups one of which ate a LITER of olive oil per week, and their parameters were a little better than a " conventional " mediterranean diet. Also a second group who ate 30 gms of mixed nuts had better parameters. My wife is still laughing about the folks who did the 5 OUNCES of oil per day. I wondered why they didn't lose weight. There were " improvements " in lipids, - within the noise of the measurement. Also, blood pressure - same comment. But what I noticed most of all was the similarities. It seemed to me that NO diet would help those people much - they needed to get their BMI down from 29. Oddly, that rec was not in the conclusions. And I have no idea how to add or switch the calories for 5 oz of olive oil. I do eat 0.5 to 1 oz raw walnuts daily. Regards.
