I love Acai...I buy it in frozen form and put it in yogurt smoothies...I believe it has the highest anti-oxidant potency of any fruit...Thanks for mentioning this fruit spread..BOn 9/16/06, Francesca Skelton <fskelton@...> wrote:

While shopping at Trader Joe's today I came across a reasonably priced

product containing pomegranate in it. It's called " Trader Joe's organic

mixed fruit spread " and I'm happy to say there's no added sugar.

Ingredients include black currents, Acai puree, and the elusive, expensive,

but extremely healthy pomegranate. The price is a reasonable $1.99 for a

10oz jar.

According to my research on the web, the Acai fruit is rich in antioxidants

but is never found as a fresh in N. America because it deteriorates quickly.

The spread is delicious. It's always a good idea to add a new healthy food and more variety to one's diet, such as Acai and pomegranate. In this case, black current is another fruit that is usually seldom eaten. (See our file: " Checklist for CRON Variety " ). The wider the range of fruits and veggies, the better.

In addition, the spread has only 30 cal per TBS.
