Guest guest
Show me the communications from those who plan to hoe my row. I have only seen OBCE rules, I have seen no threats of getting " hoed " coming from anywhere except the board. I work in the real world. My PIP, BCBS and other insurances are working. I think we have a Chicken Little in our midst. If there are concrete threats to the profession in Oregon then lets see them first before we take the drastic steps to further police our profession into a prison of paperwork and regulations. Willard Bertrand, D.C. Guest guest
You are not alone! But check the back room because the governor may be lurking about. Let's be candid. Goldschmidt, Kulongowski, Long, and the rest have all been " in bed " together since the inception of SAIF, although we may never be able to prove it. Chiropractic has been one of their many scapegoats for their personal crimes over the years, just like the 14 year old girl. Yes, we have been permanently scarred. But we can move on first to allow our profession to feel good about itself. Start with this: OBCE wants us to look good for the insurance industry and the legislators who have raped our profession and our patients. This is a typical good girl victim mentality. It is time to move on. Chiropractors are not unbridled predators! WE are victims. Those in our profession who do bad things must be prosecuted by the separate state penal system, not by the OBCE that needs to make us all violators to have enough teeth to get the " bad guys " . We need to stop the internal purification of a truly great profession. Turn the crooks over to the cops. If their only crime is that they overcharged of overtreated then let the state courts deal with what the OBCE cannot. If nothing can be done then so be it. The OBCE needs to end the bogey man tactics now. I say if the insurance industry wants to shut the profession down then come and try. The truth is that only the OBCE has the power to shut us down, all the insurance industry can do is refuse to pay the bills and complain. What group of professionals are without a complaint? In proportion to numbers of DC's I would venture that our disorderly conduct is no greater than any other profession. WE are good. We are good. We are good. I say do not change the law one bit regarding utilization. The OBCE should sit on its hands on this one. It is a pointless dress-up that will do nothing but encourage the further rape of our professional dignity. Stop this victim dress-up for the satisfaction of the abusers. It is embarrassing! Sincerely, Willard Bertrand, D.C. Am I the only one that sees the incredible irony of our wonderful Portland Mayor, Oregon Governor, SAIF lobbyist, and most recently head of the education department, admitting that he was not all he was professing to be in the 80's and 90's. I don't know about any of you, but I am fully aware of how much he cost me and my profession in earned income and reputation with his Mahonia Hall group and it's ties to SAIF at that time. I wonder just how much SAIF knew of his dalliance, oops, affair, or should we just call it what it really was, statutory rape of a 14 year old child. Was some of his " lobbying " money really just a " quid pro quo " for what he did for SAIF as Governor? Any of you legal types out there have connections? It would really make my day, and I believe a few others of you, especially those who were railroaded by SAIF and our Governor, if there was a connection and it could be found. I would like to see just how SAIF would spin that one. That would be interesting now wouldn't it? Grice, DC Albany, OR OregonDCs rules: 1. Keep correspondence professional; the purpose of the listserve is to foster communication and collegiality. No personal attacks on listserve members will be tolerated. 2. Always sign your e-mails with your first and last name. 3. The listserve is not secure; your e-mail could end up anywhere. However, it is against the rules of the listserve to copy, print, forward, or otherwise distribute correspondence written by another member without his or her consent, unless all personal identifiers have been removed.
