Guest guest
Hi folks: A couple of statistics not emphasized in the WebMD article were: First, men who did not drink at all had a 47% INCREASED risk (Table 3). So the risk reductions for men who *do* drink would apparently have been even greater, and considerably so, if they had been compared with the risk experienced by non-drinkers. Second, the benefits described continued to rise with increased drinking out at least as far as 28-34 drinks per week for both males and females. And there was no reduction in benefit even in the male 'greater than 34 drinks per week' group. [They did not have a similar (>34) sample for women]. This is not the first study to come to this type of conclusion. We each have to place our bets as to what we believe may be the best course for us. We are all, presumably, aware that there are hazards associated with inappropriate drinking. Rodney. > > > Hi folks: > > > > " That having been said, the heart benefit is real.
