please heed the rules of the group

People: please do heed the posting rules here. They are automatically circulated every two weeks but I get the feeling that not everyone reads them.

1. To remain a member of this group: No insults or " flaming " . That infraction will put you on a " moderate " status at the least and you may even be banned.

2. No " thank you's " , or such posts that are only meant for one other person. Contact them off list. Your post goes to over 2000 people so if you want to post something, make it meaningful to most of the 2000, instead of just one or two other people. We don't need the extra e-mail.

3. Back up your assertions or claims with mainstream scientific sources.

4. Do not post trivia. With such a large membership we don't need wisecracks, jokes, etc.

5. If your post is complex or difficult to understand, summarize it in one or two sentences at the beginning. If you can't do that (meaning you yourself don't understand it) then don't post it because most of us won't understand it either.
