Guest guest
The trouble with " faith " is that if you don't have it, you can't just go out and get it . It's not like following a diet or exercising. Also what these centenarians " think " is the key to their longevity may not necessarily be the key. How would they know that it's not their genes? Guest guest
Agreed, I wouldn't take this literally and hasten to my nearest church but one possible association is that stress is bad and embracing religion could reduce stress for some individuals.A more cynical take is that a calculating individual over 100 YO might be evaluating the consequence of guessing wrong. Investing in religion but then not finding an afterlife while a disappointment would be better than having to explain to St. why you bet against him.:-)JROn Aug 10, 2006, at 2:23 PM, Francesca Skelton wrote:The trouble with "faith" is that if you don't have it, you can't just go out and get it . Guest guest
I don't trust this study. 1) It seems to me that many folks naturally lean more religious with age. 2) I'd like to see a study to show that those who died younger did NOT have faith. 3) I've heard from wealthy people who believe they are wealthy because of their faith in God (!) 4) Suicide bombers claim strong faith, but have no interest in longevity. Guest guest
Also no way to tell how much they forgot. They can appear perfectly normal and not remember how they got there. Most of the homes are religious oriented. Regards. Re: [ ]You Gotta Have Faith!! The trouble with "faith" is that if you don't have it, you can't just go out and get it .
