"Chiropractor of the Day Program" has been official approved! This is going to be HUGE for the profession for years to come, it's all about being a presence in Salem. Dear colleagues I've just returned form testifying in front of the "Legislative Administrative Committee" Co-Chaired by the Speaker of the House and Senate President. Subsequent to that testimony the Committee by unanimous vote approved the Chiropractor of the Day program. How will it work? We will have a treatment room with a chiropractic treatment table and other equipment at the Capitol building. All colleagues in the state will be invited to participate. The colleague who is the "Chiropractor of the Day" will provide "urgent care" to Legislators or their staff. The doctor of the day will wear a pager and the legislator or staff person wishing a treatment will simply page our colleague who will meet them in the treatment room. The Chiropractor of the Day will be recognized by his or her Senator or Representative from the Senate or House floor (great PR for the profession). I will help colleagues also set meetings with their Senator or Rep to discuss our legislative proposals etc. Basic requirements will include proof of licensure, malpractice coverage, and proper charting. Other details will be worked out between the profession and the Admistrator We will be sending out a statewide mailer for all doctors in the state asking if they are interested in participating. This is going to be great colleagues, it's going to be HUGE!!! Score one for the profession guys and gals we hit a homerun today! ....and we will be hitting more balls out of the park come this 2005 Legislative Session. Guest guest
Super Ann, we will be sending out an invitation to all DCs in the state shortly. The details of the program will still need to be finalized with the Capitol Administrator, but the CAO should get something out shortly look for it. Also we need to set a date for "Chiropractic Day at the Capitol - 2005" at the beginning of last session we had 60+ doctors who came to the Capitol to come to this event and meet with their colleagues and to see their Senator and Representative it was great. This year we will have 100+....look for an announcement. Vern RE: SPAM [medium]: "Chiropractor of the Day" at Salem Capitol Building Approved! Sign me up, great news.
