Congratulations, !! This is a big accomplishment and not easy

especially when you're a full-time dad!! I know you'll be a great teacher

and any school will be so lucky to have you!!

have my fifty days in that the state requires. I started this last spring

but had to delay to fall due to numerous problems. Now, 12 years after

first re-entering college and three degrees later, I will finally have that

little piece of paper the state of Missouri says will let me teach for at

least four years before having to renew it (No more lifetime certificates in

Mo.)

literature, one in business and office (from earlier), 39 hours of Spanish,

and 14 years hands on experience with my own kids with special needs, so I

am hoping come next August to have a job teaching something close to home

where it won't interfer with family life and my duties at home. Family

comes first. The commute to Joplin has been a three month nightmare,

leaving at 6 in the morning, having to say goodbye to and the kids in

the dark and not being home when they get home and then having to rush to

their evening activities.

back to school I highly recommend it. Just pace yourself, put family first,

don't over do it, and don't expect miracles to happen in 4 years. Many

young people don't even do it in 4 years anymore.

Hi

At noon today I finish my student teaching at Joplin High School. I will have

my fifty days in that the state requires. I started this last spring but had to

delay to fall due to numerous problems. Now, 12 years after first re-entering

college and three degrees later, I will finally have that little piece of paper

the state of Missouri says will let me teach for at least four years before

My cert. is in English, but I also have a degree in history, one in literature,

one in business and office (from earlier), 39 hours of Spanish, and 14 years

hands on experience with my own kids with special needs, so I am hoping come

next August to have a job teaching something close to home where it won't

interfer with family life and my duties at home. Family comes first. The

commute to Joplin has been a three month nightmare, leaving at 6 in the morning,

having to say goodbye to and the kids in the dark and not being home when

they get home and then having to rush to their evening activities.

But it has been a great experience and if any of you are planning to go back to

school I highly recommend it. Just pace yourself, put family first, don't over

do it, and don't expect miracles to happen in 4 years. Many young people don't

even do it in 4 years anymore.

Maybe I will have more time to post now.

Dad to , Kristi, (all three with Down syndrome) and (Cri du

Husband to C. in Mo.
