Of course with this wind chill you've got to watch his lungs like a hawk anyway. Hang in there and try and get some sleep along the way. Guest guest
OMG....how scary for Micah! Not only should your husband have had a beer, but you, too! Micah's wild ride Well we had a good scare last night. We were all hunkered down to watch pirates of the Carribean last night when 15 minutes into the movie Micah started coughing. Okay this is nothing new for Micah but then he started REALLY coughing so I said to my husband (who was closest to him) " is he okay?? " He then started to vomit and cough and was really having a hard time. To make a long story short he was choking and we didn't know on what. We tried for a couple of minutes to get him to clear his throat but he was getting worse so called 911 and told them he was having great difficulty breathing. At this point I was scared to death even though I knew that if he was coughing (at this point slightly) he was getting SOME air in. But his eyes were bulging he was pale and limp. Talk about Scared to death. Anyway as we were on the phone with 911 he started to get bettter and eventually was back to normal, This was over the course of maybe another 5 minutes. Police came, ambulance, and of course they insisted he go to hospital. We thought he had put something in his mouth but now I wonder if he had refluxed and was aspirating. Anyway we went on another Micah's wild ride night and of course he was charming everyone around while I was still shaking!!! Now we have to keep our eyes peeled for aspiration pneumonia for the next two weeks according to doctor. My poor husband who never drinks said I gotta have a beer when I get home'! We had some in the house from visiting guests at Christmas. I have seen the inside of an ambulance to many times for my liking. So while you were all tucked in your homes last night enjoying the warmth we were out flying with the cold wind toward the hospital. Thank you Lord that Micah is okay and home today. It just reminds me yet again that every breath we take and every beat of our heart is a gift from God not to be taken lightly. Enjoy this wonderful Sunday, we all have much to be thankful for!! Guest guest
I would have opted for a glass of wine if I had been so inclined, but I was so " cooked " all I wanted was to climb in the bed and relax. We didn't go to sleep for a looong while and then I dreamed all night of the E.R. Now that I think about it you are probably right I shoulda had a glass of wine. lol!! Guest guest
Good advice!! Two families in our area recently had carbon monoxide poisoning and in both cases someone died. Get a carbon monoxide detector it may save your life!!!
