Guest guest
According to this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methionine .....Foods containing methionine include fruits, meat, vegetables, nuts and legumes. High levels of methionine can be found in spinach, green peas, garlic, some cheeses, corn, brazil nuts, pistachios, cashew nuts, kidney beans, black turtle beans, tofu, and tempeh. Most meat is also a rich source of Methionine including chicken, beef and fish Since methionine is found in so many foods (including some of the healthiest foods), how would one in practical terms restrict it - short of becoming a vegetarian and excluding chicken, beef and fish? on 5/31/2006 3:42 PM, Rodney at perspect1111@... wrote: Hi folks: This study found the following: 40% caloric restriction extended maximal lifespan by 40%. 40% protein restriction extended maximal lifespan by 20%. 80% methionine restriction extended maximal lifespan by 40%.
