Guest guest
Has anyone else experienced " problems " with their kids swimming and having bm's?? Mac has been what I considered fully day time toilet-trained for about a year now. He hasn't had an accident bm or otherwise during the day since October. However, we recently started swimming lessons and 3 out of 7 times he's had a bm while in the water. He always goes right before he gets in the pool and, like tonight, he had a good bm within a 1/2 hr. of getting in the pool, but still had a bm in the pool. I put him in the swimming diapers for this reason and that helps (however, they are VERY snug), but it is still frustrating. I know I used to work with a young woman with Ds and we used to hide her eyes if we'd even go by a beach because water (related to swimming) was like an instant enema!! :-) Just wondering if it is a Ds thing, something related to the warm water and relaxing the bowels, or just our luck. Guest guest
Yes, we've done that twice too--in hotels though!! That was the pits, but it was two years ago and I attributed it to him not been fully potty-trained. Now we make sure we have a swim diaper on it to, hopefully, contain most of it. :-/ Jill Re: Swimming and toileting In a message dated 2/19/2004 6:27:30 PM US Mountain Standard Time, thrill@... writes: > > Has anyone else experienced " problems " with their kids swimming and having > bm's?? Aren't those swimmies awful. I wrote to the Huggies people at their website and asked them to make a bigger size. They won't until they see there's a market for it. The school wants disposables & I haven't seen anything else around that will work. Kathy, Liam's mom( 5)
