Guest guest
Dear Sid, I understand what you are saying . My question is------is fear is a good reason not to find out if you can work a few hours a month? I have a friend who is disabled--she is an RN, and she had a trial work period while she still collected . In your case you can phone SS anonymously and ask your questions. There are rules and booklets that spell out the rules. They have to adhere to the rules. I found an office where the people were rude and not helpful in MA so I went over the border to a SS office in NH--it is a federal office and they have to serve you. We sometimes forget that the local office is not the only federal SS office. We pay their salaries, ya know. There are many SS offices especially out of major urban areas where the people can be kinder and gentler and more helpful--it happened to me. I was looking into widow benefits. Well--these are my thoughts and feelings on this matter. Good luck, Syd., Adele
