Guest guest
Mike, OK, I don't trust my dr, but then I trust no one without wings. And I would wonder about those with wings. What does this article tell me? NOTHING. This is why we have groups - so we can communicate info and draw our own conclusions. In fact, everyone is his own businessman. Other things I've given up on is buying a car - I simply cannot stand talking to some peafarmer I know has no knowledge of cars. I cannot stand to dicker, but fortunately I have the world's best dickerer - my son. I give my old car to him, and he gets me a deal I can't refuse. This year I am so confused, I just said (you know what) and kept my old car. It's easy, simple and quick. The same is not true for medical stuff. I MUST dig into everything someone says about health, diet, whatever. Usually, I am surprised what I find, is not what they concluded. When I go to my dr, it is to get her to tell me which dr she would go to for such. I've already reviewed my problem and I tell her what I think I need, and she writes the prescription, IF she agrees. I go with a short 2-3 page presentation, giving history, symptoms, conclusions. It saves her time and directs her to the specific problem I'm addressing. I NEED a dr to write the prescriptions. Once in a while she tells me something. BUT I am blessed with good health compared to others, my age and even younger. I may be "overweight" but I can still do the things I've always done (well almost). And I think one reason for that is because I MODERATE everything told to me, everything I read. I wait for the second article to come out that will contradict the first. You will not get me to agree just to be nice about it. And I would never compare a medical dr with a stockbroker - ANYONE can be a stockbroker. Regards. [ ] Trust Your Doctor? Here's an interesting piece from the Huffington Post:http://tinyurl.com/phol5by Dr. RostI'm a doctor, so I can say this with a straight face: Don't trust your doctor. There's no question in my mind that today most doctors are businessmen first and doctors second. And you shouldn't trust your doctor anymore than you trust your stockbroker, (if you are foolish enough to have one). Neither one looks out for you, they primarily care about themselves. That's the reason the individual retail investor on Wall Street is the last one to buy a high-flying stock before it is about to tank, and the individual patient is the last one to swallow a deadly pill, when everyone else in the know has already stopped taking it.So trust me on this. Don't trust your doctor.Mike
