Guest guest
We have in the archives many studies which point to the fact that supplementation is inferior to the appropriate foods - probably because the interaction in the food is not known yet and we can't isolate the whole unknown enchilada into the supplement. Although I don't use supplements (except for an occasional fish oil capsule and some calcium now and then), I am rarely ever sick since starting CRON going on 6 years ago (knock wood) - (and any illness I do manage to get are unusually mild). Before CRON I had my fair share of colds, flus and viruses. ---------- From: Logan <loganruns73@...> Reply- Date: Fri, 6 Jan 2006 10:05:17 -0800 (PST) Subject: [ ] Re: Supplements I'll second Franseca's sentiment that you should get what you need from food. Ideally, supplements should only be supplementing what is physically difficult to get from food in optimal qualities and be whole-food based or orthomolecular. So that would probably rule out all supplements but 1% or so. The other 99% are what I call " allopathic supplements " ... where the supplements are being used as drugs rather than for dietary supplementation.
