Refurbs vs. QVC model

Hello Neva,I am a Vitamix sales demonstrator and if it were me, I'd purchase a refurbished 5200 for $379 with a SEVEN year warranty over the scaled-down QVC model (called "Creations" on the Vitamix website) that only has a FIVE year warranty. QVC makes us sell the Vitamix at such a discount that we had to take the 5200 and remove some cosmetic features to save costs. (the soft grip handle, and the soft-touch control knobs) The refurbished 5200 machines are full-featured 5200 machines and you can't tell a refurb from a new machine when you open the box.I am a big fan of the refurbished machines. My first Vitamix was a refurbished machine (and I only have a new one because I won it at a sales meeting). I bought my mom a refurb, and the lady across the street who had cancer a refurb. I have sold many refurbished machines in between shows, have never heard a complaint and have only heard good things about them. They are inspected at the factory and re-packaged just like new. Because of Costo and Sam's Club liberal return policies many people buy machines and take them home without consulting their "significant other" and when they say no to the purchase the machine is returned. Those returns become refurbished machines - hardly any use at all! I know there are lots of people on this list who have purchased refurbished machines from me and they might chime in and let you know what they think of them!Oh, and your family members can do a 3-payment plan with Vitamix - 1/2 in the first payment (plus a $15 charge for financing) and the other half divided in the next two months. If you tell your family members about the refurbished 5200 machines I would be grateful if they ordered through me - they would get Free Shipping ;-)
