ZapChat/crossing over/Bye-bye TV

ZapChat has been low on involvement the last few weeks. Seems to

happen in (northern hemisphere) summer months every year. I checked in

for a while last night.. but no one was there at the time. Got a

phone call from FORMER work colleague (will explain below) and did not

make it back.

It's so nice to see the BBS folks joining the list folks while we try

to solve the porn posting problems over there. Since Turk let me make

him co-moderator here, he has been a prince to boot that stuff from

this place as soon as it arrives. Looking for a program that makes it

so easy on the BSS. Looking at one that's leased for $80/year or can

be bought for $160 once. My ISP is suggesting a third party provider.

You long time listers will find the BBS folks are a great source of

info. The Z-List and BBS seem to have their own pwersonalities..

with each offering a unique stream of service. I see Eve and Allan

have already checked in. (hmmm... almost Adam & Eve! lol) Eve is a

remarkable lady with a genuine joi d'vivre! Ask her to share her

pictures in costumes! Allan offers a wealth of medical perspectives

that will prove invaluable. Hopefully, Don and others with broad

perspectives will also check in here.

For those who thought my work at WFLA-TV was taking up too much time

from ZapMaintennance duties.. worry no longer. I am back to being

retired again. After I filed a hostile work environment complaint a

couple months ago against the 11PM Producer... the News Director and

Assistant News Director started making my life miserable (despite HR

promise that retaliation was forbidden) for me.

Things finally came to a head Monday, when they had me come in on my

first day of vacation to get a " review. " It was awful. To keep from

going home in tears I was clowning around.. and the person I filed the

complaint against went to the boss claiming my shenanigans scared her.

Wednesday, they called and demanded I come in to " sign papers " with

the News Chief and the HR Director. We all know what that means. To

avoid getting fired, I turned in my resignation and security card.

Since then.. I have gotten a steady stream of calls and emails from

people I worked with.. expressing shock, anger, and sadness. One guy

who has health challenges bigger than mine called in tears.. pleading

I try to talk with the corporate brass about the department

(mis)leaders. Several others think I should file suit. Mulling over

the options. Stay tuned.
