Guest guest
Hello everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. Just got back from the Doc's, nothing dramatically wrong, so that's good. They recently took me off four of my meds because of low bloodpreassure. My preassure is now leveled out, which is wonderful because falling down on hardwood floors is not a pleasant experience!! My question is this, they tell me to watch signs for on coming heart failure...apparrently I might swell up, have trouble breathing, chest pains...well, now I am paranoid. Has anyone ever been in this situation? What should/could I expect? Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled to be able to cut back on meds, but, am a tad anxious about going solo (shouldn't one of the Doc's come live with me temporarily, just in case??). Any advice would be appreciated. Please take care of yourselves!! Hugs,
Guest guest
Signs to watch for include at least shortness of breathe, light headedness - standing, sitting, laying, standing up from sitting position; swelling in hands, feet, abdomen, fluid retention; tightness (congestion) in chest; dizziness; needing more pillows to sleep - help with breathing; etc. These are some of the signs/symptoms I get. I can usually take a small dose of Lasix to help relieve the symptoms for congestion and swelling. Guest guest
Hello : I had a few episodes of heart failure. My first signs were my ankles would swell up and i would cough alot. I did not have any chest pain but i was very tired. I am sure everyone has a different experience but I am sure you would feel the difference, because mine was very drastic change and i did not feel healthy when all that was going on. I hope you'll never go thru it. Love TURK anxiety... Hello everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. Just got back from the Doc's, nothing dramatically wrong, so that's good. Guest guest
Tommy.... Do you also cough but don't bring anything up? (nonproductive cough) My step-uncle who had severe CHF did that at frequent intervals. Guest guest
I rarely have a cough. I know it is common though for CHF'ers to have non-productive coughing. Hope you are adjusting to the medication change, Tommy anxiety...> > Hello everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. Just got back> from the Doc's, nothing dramatically wrong, so that's good.
