Hi Jeanette,

I've used LB, BM and Callanetics in the past (as well as Pilates and Yoga)

for my strength training and these are definately good options! As you said,

you'll probably need to add in some upper body since these workouts tend to

be light on them, though as I recall som of the push-up variations could be

difficult! I think they make a great cross-training tool and it is always

good to challenge your mind and body w/ different things. I haven't done

LB, BM, Callanetics in awhile and I'm actually thinking of coming up w/ a

rotation of them again soon. I also have a book called World Class Legs

which is based on LB Method, you might be interested in it - I picked it up

at Half.Com - the author is Felix Schmitt and I'm thinking of doing a

rotation of that for 6 weeks w/ some cardio and upper body/abs. (It is a 6

week program, with each week growing in difficulty!)

Take care!

Donna

Donna,

Thanks for sharing! :)

Did you use LB/BM/Call all at once when you used them before? I'm trying

to come up with a rotation where I use all 3 every week. Though LB and

BM seem pretty much identical to me. So basically it would only seem

like combining 2 things instead of 3.

Hi!

I think I used all of them, though I didn't use Bar Method as much, since it

is longer and doesn't have as much " add-on " potential. I have LB on DVD, so

it is easy to do just parts, I have Bar Method on VHS, so it is harder to

split. Of all, I really think that Callanetics is toughest - I really like

the Quick Callanetics since the 20 min length makes it so easy to add on to

other workouts. I know from reading threads at Video Fitness that many use

LB/BM/Callanetics w/ kickboxing - and I can really see how they would

compliment each other.

You've inspired me! I think I'm going to pull my workouts out for next week

and do them with some Cathe (I have her Timesaver DVD and it is high time I

used it gvien how much $$ I spent on it!) I'm not sure if I'll do the lower

body workout on Timesaver or just substitute Bar Method or a full

Callanetics session. I think I'll also throw in a full yoga day and try to

add on as much yoga as I can.

Take care!!

Donna,

Hmm.....Callanetics with kickboxing....that does sound good :)

I am going to finish out this week with my current rotation but next

week I am going to set up a serious rotation with callanetics and

cardio. From the library I have the quick callanetics series and also

a.m./p,m. callanetics. I have all kinds of cardio. But kickboxing DOES

sound good...pretty intense and effective! :)
