I'm happy to say that I actually did my yoga workout last night and it was

WONDERFUL! I almost skipped it b/c DD didn't go to bed " on time " but once I

got her off to sleep I pushed my butt downstairs and made myself do yoga. I

did parts of the Lunar Practice on Shiva Rea's Yoga Sanctuary CD. I was

going to do a video, but I saw that DH had both VCRs tied up taping

something...and I didn't feel like doing what I have on DVD. Anyway, this

was a great and very relaxing yoga session. I did track 1 - full body

warm-up, track 2 - forward bends and twists, track 3 - hip openers and

twists and track 6 savasana (sp?) This CD is sooooo relaxing and Shiva cues

so well. I really like practicing yoga to a CD, there seems to be less

pressure to follow along or achieve a certain form as there is no one there

to compare yourself to! I dimmed the lights and just listened to Shiva and

followed along as best I could. I felt great afterwards.

I have two of her CDs - Yoga Sanctuary and Yoga Chant. I've done Sanctuary

more. Both CDs come with a sheet that shows the poses, and are really two

CD sets with a " solar " and " lunar " practice on each - the solar being more

active, the lunar being more restorative. The Yoga Sanctuary CD also lists

shorter sequences that you could do - which is very nice if you don't have

time for the full workouts the CD or if you want to use it as an add on. I

think Track 1 of the Lunar CD would make an excellent quickie session just

on its own followed by savasana. I remember that on the Solar CD of

Sanctuary, if you do the full practice, she recommends that you do the

entire Solar CD then add either the forward bends (track 2) or the hip

openers (track 3) and then savasana (track 6) fromthe Lunar CD to complete

the practice. I think the whole thing probably comes in at around 80 or 90

min, which makes it hard to fit in. But, like I said, the CD set lists

suggestions for shorter workouts. The Solar CD has sun salutations,

standing poses, backbends, etc. The Lunar has the warm-up, forward bends,

hip openers, inversions and relaxation pose. I really want to pick up more

of her CDs. I picked up the two I have from half.com. I think she has at

least two more - Yoga Trance Dance and Drops of Nectar - there may be

another. I HIGHLY recommend her!! She also has a new DVD out - Shakti

(sp?) Yoga that is available on preorder from Deep Discount DVD.com (i'm

going to order...) It is also available from the Sounds True catalog

(soundstrue.com - I think) and it is on pre-order from Amazon. Deep Discount

seems to have the best price. She also has pre-natal and post-natal yoga

videos/DVDs. I used both before and after pregnancy.

Did I mention I love Shiva?

tomorrow (friday) is my yoga day - I may either do her Solar Practice from

either Sanctuary or Chant, or I might do Eoinn's workout. They're both my

current favorites. Shiva is much more " serious " than Eoinn, though!

Take care!!

Keep practicing!! I find that the more I do the better I get. earlier this

year I did lots of yoga and worked my way up to doing backbends, inversions,

etc. Since I've slacked off I know I can't do those things anymore and just

have to keep working on them again. Hoping to get some yoga in tonight - it

really felt great and I woke up so rested, even though I actually slept less

than usual.
