I started taking Coreg in April 2003. I started at 3.125mg twice a day, and

now am taking 37.5mg twice a day.......I've never had a problem with low

blood pressure, always high.....My BP now is usually very good.....sometimes

high....never low.

Pat,

I suggest that you buy from a store that

accepts returns with no problem (such as WalMart). You may want to buy several different

models, have the readings compared to the instrument at the doctor’s

office, and keep only the most accurate one. Return the rest to the store.

Coreg Again

(Sorry)

Sorry to have more questions about Coreg. My

hubby

has just been put on Coreg, lowest dosage.

However,

as the dosage is increased, we are told that we

have

to monitor his blood pressure every day to be sure

it

doesn't drop too far. He developed low blood

pressure

three years ago, and his previous doctors

had taken

him off every medication that would tend to lower

blood pressure, so Coreg is making me very

nervous.

Question #1:Do the rest of you Coreg folks also

have

to watch your blood pressure & has Coreg

tended to

lower it?

Also, we have tried two different blood pressure

monitors and neither of them measure correctly

(each

was a way too high.). Most folks wouldn't realize

the

discrepancy, but I know how his blood pressure

runs,

and he hasn't had blood pressure this high in over

three years!!!!

Question #2: Any thoughts on blood pressure

monitors?

Thanks for any input. PatP

For me.... going on Coreg was a LIFESAVER! Yes, my B/P dropped pretty

low early but after a while my body became able to tolerate it and my

dose was increased. It REALLY helped (me) lessen the effects of CHF

and even bumped up my Ejection Fraction.

A couple years ago, after I finished the EECP therapy program... they

had to lower my Coreg dose again because of low B/P. But by then...

the new artery growth around the heart had given me another advantage

over the CHF.

I'm a BIG fan... but I always state this caveat: Decisions on such

things must be made with consultations with YOUR personal docs.

BTW... no need to apologize for raising an old issue again and again.

It's SOP around here!

Hugs...

Duffey

I use a LifeSource Digital Blood Pressure Monitor Model UA-767, that I got at Wal Mart. I had it checked two different times when I went through Cardiac Rehab and it was absolutely correct. The nurses were really impressed as they said most of the other brands they had checked were way off.
