Hey, all!

You're going to truly laugh at me when I tell you this, but I *had* to tell you about the soaping adventure I had this afternoon. I am so interested to see how it turns out!!!

Since I'm new at soaping, I have like 20 different bars of soap stored in our office closet -- bars that I made when I was first starting out. Some of them didn't quite turn out that great looks-wise. They all smell good; they're just not customer-worthy! :-) Anyway, I started thinking this afternoon that it would be a shame to waste them. I mean, just because they don't all look so great doesn't mean they're not useful.

So I went to Target this afternoon and found two great drawer dividers in the kitchen department -- they're just white plastic trays, basically. I took all of these bars of soap and cut them into varying pieces with a knife, then placed them willy-nilly into these two drawer dividers. There were so many colors on top of each other -- orange, pastel yellow, light-blue, brown, purple, you name it! Then, I poured pear-scented, clear MP base over the embedded shapes. It smells really good and looks kind of neat!

I feel good that I didn't waste all of those bars of soap, because they were perfectly good. Now, I have two questions, though -- I want to come up with a name for the bars that I just made, and also, what do you guys use to cut your loaves into bars of soap? I'm afraid that the knife I used isn't really that great for cutting something like this. I think someone mentioned a pastry cutter -- one of those U-shaped things. Is that right? Anyway, to me, the bars kind of look like "childhood whimsy" -- I thought that might be a neat name -- and they also look like "stained glass." Oh well, I'm sure I'll come up with something creative!
